Made of wire mesh, theĀ ARRI Half Single Scrim for Arrilite 2000 and Arrilite 2000 PlusĀ is a 10" diameter light control that reduces the lamp head's output by 1/2 stop in half the beam of light. Half of the scrim has no wire mesh and the other has mesh that absorbs 1/2 stop of light. This is valuable, for instance, for situations where the subject is moving toward the light source. The bottom half of the scrim reduces the light closest to the subject while the background is unaffected. This evens out the light coverage.
